Yen Bai will host the Khen Mong Festival and To Day Flower Festival
The Khen Mong Festival and To Day Flower Festival in Mu Cang Chai District (Yen Bai province) are set to take place during the New Year 2025 celebration, featuring a variety of captivating activities that showcase the rich cultural heritage of the local ethnic communities.

From December 27, 2024, to January 2, 2025, Mu Cang Chai District will organize an array of exciting events as part of the Khen Mong Festival, the To Day Flower Festival, and the New Year 2025 celebrations.
The series of activities will include a tourism seminar titled “Mu Cang Chai: A Destination of Identity, Safety, and Friendliness”, a street parade, paragliding experiences, an art photography exhibition themed “The Radiant To Day Flowers”, and an immersive experience called “The Journey to Chase Clouds and Discover To Day Flowers.”
The centerpiece of the event will be the opening ceremony of the Third Khen Mong Festival and To Day Flower Festival, 2024. This celebration will feature a re-creation of the Mong cultural space, along with various activities to welcome the New Year 2025. These include the Banh Day Pounding Festival, a traditional spinning top competition of the Mong people, folk games, cultural performances rich in ethnic identity, and booths showcasing and selling unique products of Mu Cang Chai District.
Mu Cang Chai is a highland district in the western region of Yen Bai Province, located over 300 km northwest of Hanoi. Nestled at the foot of the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, it sits at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters above sea level.
Visitors to Mu Cang Chai can explore Mong ethnic villages, delve into the rich cultural heritage, and experience the unique customs and traditions of the Northwest Highlands. The region is renowned for its exceptional folk art, cultural values, and famous local specialties.

Visitors to Mu Cang Chai can immerse themselves in its distinctive cultural tourism offerings. Highlights include participating in the vibrant Mong Khen dance, joining young Mong men and women at the traditional Sai San Festival, experiencing traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, weaving linen fabric, crafting jewelry, and savoring the authentic dishes of the Mong people.
Guests will also have the chance to marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the Mu Cang Chai terraced fields, recognized as a National Special Scenic Site. Covering an area of 330 hectares, these iconic terraced fields were officially acknowledged by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
