Yen Bai province: Tram Tau Inventory of 79 intangible cultural heritage assets

To enhance the preservation and promotion of the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the area, the Department of Culture and Information of Tram Tau District has collaborated with the Center for Heritage and Tourism Management of Yen Bai Province to inventory 79 intangible cultural heritage assets across 11 communes in the district.

Accordingly, two departments have cooperated to inventory 34 heritage assets of the Hmong ethnic group in 10 highland communes. Among them are: one asset of spoken and written language; three assets of folk literature; four assets of traditional performance art; 15 assets of social customs and beliefs; one traditional festival asset; six assets of traditional crafts; and four assets of folk knowledge.

The Thai ethnic group in Hat Luu Commune has 22 heritage assets inventoried. Among them are: one asset of spoken and written language; two assets of folk literature; six assets of traditional performance art; nine assets of social customs and beliefs; two assets of traditional crafts; and two assets of folk knowledge.

The Kho Mu ethnic group in Tuc Dan Commune has 13 heritage assets inventoried. Among them are: one asset of spoken and written language; one asset of folk literature; three assets of traditional performance art; five assets of social customs and beliefs; one traditional festival asset; one asset of traditional crafts; and one asset of folk knowledge.

In addition to the work of inventorying heritage assets, the district has directed agencies, units, and the People’s Committees of communes and towns to enhance the promotion, preservation, and development of the cultural heritage values that have been recognized in the area, such as: the art of Mong flute performance, the art of beeswax painting on fabric, and the Gau Tao Festival of the Mong people…

In the coming time, Tram Tau will continue to implement the amended Law on Cultural Heritage, regulations on the management and organization of festivals; guidelines for environmental protection in tourism activities, festival organization, and the preservation and promotion of heritage site values; regulations for the management, protection, and promotion of historical and cultural sites and scenic landscapes in Yen Bai Province; and the plan for the implementation of the Project “Preservation and Promotion of the Values of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage in Yen Bai Province Associated with Tourism Development for the Period 2022-2030” in 2024…
