In his opening address, Luong Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Tua Chua District People’s Committee, highlighted that Tua Chua holds significant potential for developing cultural and ecological tourism. This includes community tourism models, showcasing the distinctive culinary culture of ethnic groups, and promoting ‘one commune one product’ (OCOP) initiatives. Other key attractions include exploring the Da River reservoir, market tours, night markets, cave exploration, and admiring terraced fields and rocky plateaus.
In recent years, tourism in Dien Bien Province, and particularly in Tua Chua District, has thrived, making the region an increasingly popular destination. Tourism is gradually becoming a cornerstone of Tua Chua’s economy, driving socio-economic development and contributing to the province’s tourism development strategy by 2025, with a vision for 2030.
The Tua Chua District Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week 2024 ran from 16th to 20th October, offering a variety of activities. On the opening night, attendees enjoyed a special artistic programme featuring 13 singing and dancing performances, themed around the vibrant highlands and the stunning rocky landscape of Tua Chua – a place where people from all directions come together.
