Phi Rum Soc Pagoda
Bhiramyaràja Pagoda (Phi Rum Soc Pagoda) was built in 1097, located in Rum Soc Hamlet, Chau Dien Commune, Cau Ke District. This pagoda is an excellent representation of the ancient architectural art of the Khmer people; from the pagoda gate, main hall to other buildings such as the sala, monk quarters… all feature high artistic value and strongly reflect the cultural identity of the Khmer people.
Phi Rum Soc Pagoda has made significant contributions to the cause of Vietnam’s national liberation. During the resistance wars against the French and Americans, the pagoda served not only as a center for religious activities but also as a gathering place for locals to engage in political struggles.
Today, Phi Rum Soc Pagoda is a center for religious activities, an enduring symbol of Khmer culture, and a place for educating monks as well as the children of Buddhist followers in the region to cultivate the virtues of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. Additionally, it is a place for preserving and safeguarding the traditional cultural values of the Khmer people through various cultural festivals and activities.
