Thach Son Than is located in Quyet Tien Commune, Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Province and is situated within the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors to Thach Son Than will be able to walk along a winding, deep mountain pass road, with steep cliffs on one side and deep ravines on the other. In the distance, terraced rice fields wind around the mountains, giving the impression of an exciting adventure. After crossing that perilous road section, visitors will reach a group of stone statues standing tall amidst the vast sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thach Son Than is actually a cluster of limestone columns that are about ten metres high and 20-25 metres wide, standing out in quite a peculiar fashion in the middle of a large, relatively flat and very fertile field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The limestone statues are nearly 400 million years old. In the past, local people used to grow maize, rice and other crops around the site year-round. Currently, the area has been planted with various flowers to serve visitors who come to take photos and use it as an ideal stopover point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thach Son Than was listed as a protected site by Ha Giang Province in July 2014.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors to Thach Son Than can admire the beauty of many flowers, including Ha Giang\u2019s iconic buckwheat flowers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
