Nestled amid the towering mountains, Tang Quai Pass (located at the border between Ang Nua and Ngoi Cay communes in Muong Ang District) has become a popular destination for those captivated by the majesty of the Northwest landscape and passionate about cloud hunting. The billowing layers of clouds that blanket the Muong Khoe Valley create an intense attraction for young visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tang Quai Pass has become a fresh new destination for young people to enjoy mountain cloud-watching and \u201ccloud hunting.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located along National Highway 279, about 5 km from Muong Ang District centre and a 45-minute drive from Dien Bien Phu City, Tang Quai Pass is a fresh destination for young adventurers passionate about cloud hunting. From high vantage points, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the entire Muong Ang Valley, surrounded by majestic natural scenery, immersing themselves in the rugged hills and a sea of white clouds. This spot provides an ideal escape for those looking to retreat from the hustle and bustle of life and find tranquility amid the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For first-time visitors to Tang Quai Pass, the excitement and anticipation of cloud hunting are palpable. Tran Linh, from Dien Bien Phu City, shared her feelings at the start of her journey: \u201cI love seeing a sea of clouds, so many clouds. I want to go cloud hunting in the early morning when the sun rises.\u201d Experiencing cloud hunting for the first time, Linh couldn’t hide her joy, imagining the clouds drifting by and the sunrise emerging from the vast white sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the journey to hunt clouds doesn\u2019t always go smoothly. On the day Linh visited Tang Quai Pass, the weather was unfavourable, with thick fog blocking the sunlight, which made her cloud-hunting experience less than perfect. \u201cI feel a bit disappointed. I\u2019ll probably come back here to try again another time,\u201d Linh shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tran Thi Thu Hai, the owner of Hai An Rest Stop – a popular spot for tourists to view and check in at Tang Quai Pass – explained: \u201cThe best time for cloud hunting is from October to the end of January. Visitors should arrive at the rest stop by 6 a.m. to witness the entire sunrise emerging from the sea of clouds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who miss the chance to go cloud hunting, many are determined to return to experience it again. Like Linh, who plans to revisit Tang Quai with the hope of a complete experience, witnessing the majestic and mystical natural landscape of Dien Bien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cloud-hunting experience at Tang Quai Pass is more than just sightseeing; it\u2019s a journey that connects visitors with nature. The beauty of the sea of clouds, mountains, forests, and the sunrise creates a sense of entering another world, where the soul feels light and at ease. Besides the stunning scenery, visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture of the Thai and Mong ethnic groups, enjoy Dien Bien specialities like sticky rice, hill chicken, and savour a cup of Muong Ang coffee – a local speciality of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
