This revival is part of the district\u2019s broader effort, outlined in a plan issued on September 27, to safeguard the traditional Thai festival, which faces the risk of fading into obscurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative also seeks to harness the cultural significance of the festival to boost tourism and drive development tied to the U Va area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival was brought back to life with both a ceremonial and a festive component.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The solemn ceremony, rich in Thai cultural identity, served as a way for participants to express their deep gratitude to their ancestors, thanking them for their guidance and blessings in ensuring their families\u2019 health and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayers for favourable weather and fruitful harvests in the upcoming seasons were also offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival saw 11 teams compete in a range of traditional Thai folk games, including raft racing, tug-of-war, cloth ball tossing, young rice pounding and a culinary competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A cultural exchange between the district\u2019s public art troupe and four local communes added further vibrancy to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
