Moc Chau (Son La province) is paying attention to developing agriculture in combination with experiential tourism so as to gain higher economic efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moc Chau currently owns 2,150 hectares of tea, over 10,400 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds, and over 3,000 hectares of vegetables. It has about 80 hectares of greenhouses and net houses; over 500 hectares apply water-saving irrigation; and over 350 hectares following VietGAP, Global GAP standards. Its average agricultural production value reaches over 80 million VND (3,150 USD) per hectare per year, and up to 250 million VND in areas applying high technologies.

The district currently has 111 agricultural cooperatives, with over 1,110 members, and 33 OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, of which 11 are rated as 4-star and 22 as 3-star.

With an area of \u200b\u200bnearly 3,500 hectares, Moc Chau is the largest plum growing area in Vietnam. Farmers now not only sell plum products but also take the most of the flower and fruit seasons to open sightseeing and experience services in their gardens, attracting a large number of tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the support of the locality, many eco-tourism products have been formed in Moc Chau district, such as visiting farms; experiencing picking fruits or planting, caring for and harvesting vegetables; visiting Vinatea Moc Chau tea village, heart-shaped and fingerprint-shaped tea hills, and the high-quality raw material area associated with the development of eco-tourism of Moc Suong Tea Company Limited and some tea hills of households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Mai Kieu Linh, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: \u201cAfter searching for information online, some families and I organised a tour for our children to visit and experience agricultural activities in Moc Chau plateau. I found this to be a very interesting place to experience, as everyone can see with their own eyes the green tea hills, pick ripe oranges, and experience being a farmer taking care of and milking cows. These activities help children get closer to nature, and gain more life skills and knowledge about agricultural production\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nguyen Thi Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the district People’s Committee, said that developing agriculture and preserving cultural values \u200b\u200bare the main foundations in the orientation of sustainable tourism development in Moc Chau. Tourism and agriculture are two fields that support and promote each other to develop together, thereby forming unique, attractive and appealing tourism products.

Agritourism has contributed to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas in Moc Chau, and tapping the values \u200b\u200bof local resources, especially the intrinsic values \u200b\u200bof agricultural production activities to generate additional income for farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
