After more than a year of construction, the Traditional Cultural Village of Ethnic Minorities in A Luoi District – a \u201ccommon house\u201d that preserves, maintains, reproduces and promotes the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in the mountainous district of A Luoi (Thua Thien Hue province) -has officially come into operation, bringing joy to the people of the western region of Hue.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Common House\u201d in A Luoi<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Luoi is a mountainous district located on the majestic Truong Son mountain range, with more than 54,000 people, of which ethnic minority households account for 76.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This land has experienced two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism but still retains its own identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wish to have a \u201ccommon house\u201d was raised many years ago with the hope that it would be a place to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity, loyalty, and wholehearted following of the Party and Uncle Ho of the ethnic minorities in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performing many traditional cultural activities of ethnic minorities in A Luoi<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built in the Sim Forest Conservation Area in Hong Thuong Commune, the Traditional Cultural Village of Ethnic Minorities covers an area of \u200b\u200b5 hectares. The project has completed the first phase with items such as inter-commune traffic roads from Phu Vinh Commune to Hong Thuong Commune – connecting from Ho Chi Minh Road to the cultural village; a common community activity house; and traditional activity houses of the Pa Co, Ta Oi, and Co Tu ethnic groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be a place to promote the beauty in the lives of ethnic minorities. As soon as it was put into operation, many festivals of each ethnic group were recreated such as the A Reu Ca Festival of the Pa Co people, the Kliing Tang Festival of the Ta Oi people, and the An Ninh Festival (Thanksgiving for parents) of the Co Tu people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delegates visit the space of the traditional craft villages<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order for the village to become a highlight on the cultural and tourism map of Thua Thien Hue, a representative of A Luoi District said that they will invite artisans who are knowledgeable about culture and traditional crafts to the village to introduce, promote, and perform for tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among them are typical occupations such as weaving brocade, traditional pottery, and mat weaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
